Pope John returns to Sotto il Monte
To commemorate the 55th anniversary of the death of Pope John XXIII, the body of the Papa Buono was brought from Rome to Sotto il Monte (his hometown in the province of Bergamo). The body is on display for worshippers from 28th May to 10th June.
An emotional crowd of devotees waited to greet the remains. After 10th June, the body will return to the Vatican.
CSC for Pope John XXIII
The commissioner of the works was the parish of San Giovanni Battista - the parish of Sotto Il Monte.
CSC provided a 2,000 m² tensile structure for the Mass. The structure had a single 40-metre span, a new floor, a stage and an installation set-up. The exhibition was simple and sober, in accordance with the religious context.
In addition to the tensile structure used for the Mass, CSC set up a 1000 square metre tensile structure for the refreshment area, which included a floor, a bar set-up, and lighting.
Once again, these installations show how CSC's tensile structures can meet every need and be used in the most diverse of contexts.
